Take Heart was founded in 1989 and since then has raised nearly two million pounds to fund major projects. They are committed to giving care and comfort to patients and their families at the Yorkshire Heart Centre at Leeds General Infirmary and St James Hospital and its Units within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

My Dad was a patient in the wards supported by Take Heart funding where he eventually lost his battle with heart disease in 2008.  I would like to pay back some of the support he was given whilst benefiting from the funding raised

by Take Heart.  Therefore all money raised in my pre MDS 2011 events will go to the John Myers BEM Memorial Fund c/o Take Heart.

Take Heart charity (Registered Charity No. 1002063).

I am a proud supporter of Take Heart but I felt in order to reach out to the wider public I needed a more general charity to raise funds for.

Therefore I  have chosen to run the MDS 2011 to raise funds for the Gift of Hope fund in memory of John Myers BEM c/o the British Heart Foundation.

All money raised through this Gift of Hope will go towards research into Heart Disease.
