Marathon Des Sables has been a great interest to me, a decision to take on the challenge back in May 2008 following the passing of my father has now become a reality having gained entry to the MDS 2011.
A gruelling run/trek over the Sahara desert in North Africa, equivalent to approx 6 marathons over 6 days. In addition to that I will have to carry water, food, sleeping bag and all equipment for the duration of the event, apart from a tent (set up by the organisers).
